SISTER RECEIVES COMPASSION AWARD
To celebrate its fifth anniversary, the Worcester Diocesan Office of AIDS Ministry has presented its first Compassion Awards to individuals who have shown exceptional dedication in aiding and caring for people with HIV/AIDS.
This year's recipients included Sister Marie Bissonnette, of the Regional Community of New York. Sister Marie received the award for her work as Founder and Director of the Life House hospitality center in Worcester for people living with HIV/AIDS.
The awards were presented on October 27, 2000 in Notre Dame's church at Salem Square, Worcester. The awards are framed copies of the Mother of Compassion.
