Another
Success for the Students and Sisters
by Kristina Papa, Manager of Special Events and Direct Mail
This year’s Sisters of Mercy Golf Classic was a perfect example of what a
little hard work – and a lot of prayers – add up to! Tuesday, May 6 began as
a cloudy morning but gave way to partly sunny skies as golfers headed out to the
stunning course at Ardsley Country Club.
36 tee/green sponsor signs adorned the sloping greens of the golf course, where
86 golfers put their skills to the test. In an effort to spice up the
competition a bit, hole #9 featured a bright red Mini Cooper, courtesy of
Westchester BMW, and hole #2 featured an RX 330, courtesy of Ray Catena Lexus.
Both cars were offered as prizes to anyone scoring a hole in one.
The Sisters of Mercy are
incredibly lucky to have loyal supporters
who have been a driving force behind this outing since its inception in 2000.
Co-Chair Bill Angarano of Wealth & Joy Accelerated, LLC along with committee
members Glenn Diehl of Skyline Displays Manhattan, Michael Ciaramella of Joseph
Polchinski Monuments, and Mike McHugh of Moretrench American Corporation, are
just a few of the people who were instrumental in this year’s success.
After the Sisters of Mercy, golfers, and friends were treated to an open bar and
fabulous grand buffet on a terrace overlooking the Hudson River, Golf Pro Jim
Bender announced the competitive winners
and Co-Chairs Bill Angarano and Jack McArdle announced the raffle
winners.
Thanks to the overwhelming support of our sponsors and golfers and the steadfast
commitment of our committee and staff, we enjoyed another wonderful success for Mercy
Secondary Education. So, let’s give thanks for another amazing
achievement for the sisters and students!
Mark your calendars: Next
year’s Golf Classic will be held on May 11, 2004.
