Dear
Friend of Mercy,
Animated
by the Gospel and Catherine McAuley’s passion
for the poor, we Sisters of Mercy commit our lives
to improving the world through our ministries in
healthcare, education, and social and pastoral
services. As we face the continual challenges
associated with this mission, we are sustained by
our belief that the power of prayer can change the
world.
And
so we ask you to join your daily prayers with
those of Sisters of Mercy across the Americas for
the following prayer intentions, chosen as our
priorities for the next four years when we met in
Chapter this past summer.
Each
day of the week we will focus on one of these
intentions, reflecting first on the Gospel, then
on our Constitutions, which are the rules by which
Sisters of Mercy live, and finally on the Chapter
Acts, which reflect the prayerful thoughts of the
decision-making body of the Sisters of Mercy of
the Americas.
Together,
we ask the Holy Spirit to bless our words and
inspire us to follow in the footsteps of Jesus
Christ.
