Our Lady of Victory Academy, Dobbs Ferry, NY
Our Lady of Victory Academy, accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools, opened in 1945 in Tarrytown, NY, and is now located in Dobbs Ferry, NY. With an enrollment of about 400, the Academy serves young women of Hispanic, Caucasian, Afro-American, Asian, and Native American backgrounds with a growing number coming from single parent families. The faculty's primary goal is to help students develop leadership qualities with a heightened awareness of their role as women empowered to make significant contributions to home, church, community, and the world.

St. Catharine Academy, Bronx, NY
St. Catharine Academy opened in 1889 in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan in New York City. The school moved to its present site in the Pelham Parkway section of the Bronx in 1953 to accommodate a rapidly growing student body. Today, the school serves over 900 young women representing the Hispanic, Caucasian, African-American, and Asian communities. Approximately 38% of the student body is at the poverty level, and 37% of the students come from single parent families.

Mercy Center, Bronx, NY
Mercy Center is a beacon of hope in Mott Haven, the nation's poorest Congressional District, a neighborhood characterized by random violence, unemployment, inadequate housing, and insufficient community resources. Mercy Center was founded in 1990 by the Sisters of Mercy and St. Pius V Church as a counseling and skills center for parents in the parish school. The program has expanded to include residents from the neighborhood, and referrals from local social service agencies as well as neighborhood organizations.

Mercy Center offers courses in parenting skills, parent education workshops, family workshops, and leadership training. In addition, the Center offers individual, family, and group counseling, support groups, opportunities for job training and economic development, Scripture sharing, retreat days, collaborative work to address community issues, referrals to other agencies, and outreach through home visiting.

"Catherine's spirit is palpable and her vision comes to life at Mercy Center. It is inspiring to see our women take steps to overcome isolation, violence, and poverty as they experience respect, belief in their giftedness, and support in their efforts to transform their lives."
Peggy Costa, RSM, Mercy Center Staff Member

Catholic Health East
Catholic Health East is a consortium of 12 religious communities and their health systems, that resulted in a new co-sponsored health system. Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid, NY and Mercy Healthcare Center in Tupper Lake, NY are part of Catholic Health East. As co-sponsors, we focus on strengthening the role and identity of Catholic healthcare in communities where we serve, and extending our mission by welcoming other sponsors and partners.

Marian Woods
Marian Woods provides a place of rest and support for the women of five religious communities who have given their entire lives for the care and comfort of others. The name honors Mary, the mother of God, and the sylvan-like setting that surrounds the facility.

Experienced professionals deliver services in an atmosphere that's completely respectful of the sisters' physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Each Sister has a room with private bath, and enjoys meals, housekeeping, healthcare management, and assistance with personal care.

Mass is offered daily in the Chapel and recreational and other types of activities are available as well. When needed, more extensive healthcare will be provided under contract with the Home Health Agency of Dominican Sisters Family Health Services.
