Sister Patricia Wolf to direct Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility

Sr. Patricia Wolf, RSM, who recently completed two terms as President of the Sisters of Mercy, Regional Community of New York, was named Executive Director of The Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility (ICCR). The ICCR is a membership organization of 275 Protestant, Roman Catholic, and Jewish institutional investors, including national denominations, religious communities, pension funds, endowments, hospital corporations, economic development funds, and publishing companies. ICCR and its members press companies to be socially and environmentally responsible. Each year ICCR-member religious institutional investors sponsor over 100 shareholder resolutions on major social and environmental issues.

"We are fortunate to have a leader like Pat Wolf as ICCR's new Executive Director," declared Francis G. Coleman, Chair of ICCR's Governing Board. "She has extensive experience and an impressive list of achievements as a leader of faith-based organizations. Pat also has a long history with the corporate social responsibility movement and ICCR. She was a member of the ICCR Governing Board for eight years and chaired the ICCR Board from 1982 to 1984."

Saying she is honored to be selected as ICCR's Executive Director, Sr. Pat declared: "Twenty five years ago ICCR changed my worldview and my life. I believe it continues to inspire change. Growth of the socially responsible investment movement offers hope that our efforts can influence the course of today's global economy. Our mission and moral imperative remain a world built on economic justice, peace, and sustainability."

Sr. Pat has been a major force in mobilizing Roman Catholic investment in economic development in low-income and minority communities, founding and serving on boards of directors of several organizations and foundations. In 1983 she was a cofounder and the first President of the Leviticus 25:23 Alternative Fund, which pooled community development investments by religious communities from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

Sr. Pat is or has been a member of boards of directors and advisory boards of a variety of hospital corporations and educational institutions, including Catholic Health East and the Eastern Mercy Health System. For seven years she was a member of the steering committee of the Religious Task Force on Central America, and for two years served on the Advisory Committee for the Council on Foundations.

A 37-year member of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, Sr. Pat recently completed eight years as President of the New York Regional Community. Sr. Pat has a Doctor of Humane Letters from Mercy College, Dobbs Ferry, New York, where she completed her B.A. degree. She has an M.A. degree from Manhattan College, Bronx, New York.
