World Day for Consecrated Life Set for February 3-4, 2001.

The Feast of the Presentation, celebrated worldwide on February 2, 2001 has been called for by Pope John Paul II to highlight the place of consecrated life in the Church. Bishop Joseph Fiorenza, President of the National Conference of Catholic Bishops, has urged all dioceses to note this occasion.

"The history of our Church tells vividly the importance of the contributions of those who have embraced the Consecrated Life. They include many great figures from Doctors of the Church such as Thomas Aquinas, Catherine Siena and Carmelite Teresa of Avila to people who walked on U.S. soil including Mother Elizabeth Ann Seton, Mother Katherine Drexel and Bishop John Neumann."
